Communications Intern
Reports to: Director of Engagement
Job Type: Part-time, Temporary
DESCRIPTION
The Marketing and Communications Intern assists in communicating Launch Pad’s mission and programming to the community through virtual and print media as well as in-person engagement. Flexible schedule to be determined based on intern availability. Occasional evening and weekend hours expected.
QUALIFICATIONS
● Interest, experience, and education in the marketing and communications field
● Experience with content creation for e-news and social media platforms required
● Experience with creating social media calendars preferred
● Familiarity with Canva and MailChimp or similar experience preferred
● Experience adhering to brand standards
● Professional competency with excellent interpersonal communication skills
● Proven track record as a collaborative team player with strong decision-making skills
● Culturally aware and sensitive
● Ability to maintain confidentiality
● Access to reliable transportation
● LGBTQ+ individuals, people of color, and people with lived experience of housing instability are strongly encouraged to apply
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Participate in strategic communications planning for Launch Pad events
● Assist with content creation and posting for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
● Assist in writing copy for our newsletters and website
● Develop content for electronic and print publications
● Occasionally participate in tabling opportunities
● Occasionally make appearances in Emergency Shelter and MHNC to gather information/photos for content
